Kishore Papineni
Research scientist and co-author of the BLEU metric
Kishore Papineni is a research scientist. In 2002, while at IBM, he co-authored the BLEU metric for automatic evaluation of machine translation output.
Papineni graduated from Rice University in 1995 with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in the area of systems and control theory.
He was a researcher and research manager at IBM. In 2006, he joined Yahoo as a senior research director, where he led the machine learning team. In 2012, he joined Google as a senior research scientist.
